I’m sure by now it’s pretty obvious I love things from the 80’s. I collect many things from that era; comics, watches, video games and of course toys.
While not known to many, the 80’s Toy Show is a small, but niche convention. Ontario toy collectors and geeks can find action figures from He-Man, Ninja Turtles, Transformers, G.I. Joe’s, Centurions, Thunder-Cats. The list goes on and on, and I could go on, but I won’t. You kinda get it.
Toronto’s beloved retro toy show felt like it needed bolder advertising. Because this convention is aimed towards 30 to 40-year-old toy collectors (like myself) I wanted to use iconic toys with big, loud type that screams “We’re not ready to grow up!” to catch – and keep – the attention of the young at heart.
