NickRetro

The idea is to create a alternative to other streaming services centering around the Nickelodeon brand and solving the issue of illegal upload content through YouTube by offering services that could not be found any where else. From avid fans to new parents, NickRetro was designed to cater anyone that is hankering to hang out with their old animated friends from their childhood.
Designing NickRetro, a conceptual streaming service idea for mobile, was a challenging journey from many angles. It required me to learn Figma from scratch, studying and understanding UI and UX, planning flowcharts, prototyping, and more. The project pushed me to understand the complexities of building the app design from the ground up and digest many mobile and UX rules I never knew existed until now.
For more brain-picking or a simulation of the app, please check out either the case study or protoype I’ve made for this project:

NickRetro Card Shop

The NickRetro Card Shop is a fun way to reward and incentivize the user to watch their favourite shows through the app. Earn coins by watching shows and answering fun trivia, then use them at the shop and collect some sweet retro trading cards.

Memeing Made Easy!

Ever been inspired by the show you’re watching to make the world smile with your meme idea?
Meme Me is an integrated feature where you can take a screenshot, gif or clip from the show you’re watching, put your pun or joke text over it and share it through your social media.

Parental Supervision

Control what your child is watching and how long they can watch with NickRetro’s Parental Supervision feature. Customize your loved one’s from how much they can to to exactly what they can watch with a few screen touches.
